over 400 years of history, entered the construction equipment industry nearly half a century ago.

History

Our origin 16^thcentury
Starting point of HA 1958

This journey began in 1958 with the production of the ‘HA32’,
an asphalt paver utilizing American technology.
Established in 1963 Construction Machinery Division established in Sumitomo Machinery Industries Co., Ltd. (Now Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.)
Starting point of SH 1964

In 1963, SUMITOMO partnered with Link-Belt, a prominent American construction equipment company, to enter the hydraulic excavator manufacturing sector.
